Showcase & Pitch Artists
ZumaZuma is a group of young rockers from the small town of Kensington, Prince Edward Island. They grew up on traditional Irish music as well as the classic rock and roll of the 1960s, 1970s and beyond. These four self-taught musicians have been good friends and jamming partners for years. The band is supplemented by it's main singing/songwriting duo of Iain McCarvill and Dan Paynter. Providing the ribbon on the package is Liam McCarvill; he sings high harmony and plays bass guitar. Derrick Curley provides a steady base on percussion and Iain and Dan play lead and rhythm guitar, respectively.

Although together as an original group for only a few short months, Zuma has managed to accomplish a lot already. They booked their own shows throughout the summer of 2007, got a number of their songs featured on local FM radio and, most importantly, got accepted into Contact East 2007. Recently, they were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to record a number of their songs at the PEI studio of producer Paul Milner. The members of Zuma hope their tunes are welcomed by open ears and they look forward to meeting and speaking with everyone at the conference.
