Atlantic Sinfonia Atlantique
Atlantic Sinfonia AtlantiqueAtlantic Sinfonia Atlantique, a unique hybrid orchestra with an audience friendly approach to classical chamber music, brings together some of the best professional musicians in the Maritimes.

Under the artistic direction of Richard Hornsby and led by New Brunswick’s David Adams, as concertmaster, the group performs in 18th century style, standing and performing without conductor and often in non-traditional performance settings with fine acoustics. The resulting product is high quality entertainment - performed with freshness and vibrancy.

Atlantic Sinfonia is dedicated to introducing concert-goers to the great repertoire for small orchestra. Traditional pieces and crowd favorites are always on the program, but many will find they enjoy being introduced to new works as well. A close bond with the audience members and an entertaining educational component around the music being performed are always part of the show.

Recent Accomplishments:

-Atlantic Sinfonia created the educational book: “A Musical Legacy: A Celebration of Fredericton and New Brunswick Composers” as part of the City of Fredericton’s Cultural Capitals of Canada initiative in 2009.
-Atlantic Sinfonia presented a special concert of music for Congress 2011 of the Humanities and Social Sciences. The event attracted approximately 6000 delegates.

-Atlantic Sinfonia headlined the official opening of The Richard J. CURRIE CENTER. The wellness facility combines UNB recreation with cutting-edge research for both local residents and the university community.

- Atlantic Sinfonia recently performed at the East Coast Music Association Awards during the showcase: “A Sound Celebration”. The event was staged on Saturday, April 14 at Moncton's Capitol Theatre.
