As a leading live art company in Kjipuktuk/Halifax and beyond, we are committed to playful queer work that is innovative and genre-bending. Our organization has a clear and strong commitment to diversity within culture, abilities and gender. Since our inception in 2016, HEIST has been nominated for over thirty Theatre Nova Scotia Awards and has been awarded eight of them, including Outstanding Production in 2022 with our show Frequencies. HEIST was also a finalist for the Nova Scotia Masterworks Prize in 2021 with their original show The Princess Show. HEIST has toured work across the country, been a part of the National Arts Centre season and was featured at Spotlight Canada in Edinburgh in 2022. HEIST is led by Richie Wilcox, Aaron Collier & Sylvia Bell.
