Little Misty

Little Misty is the project of singer Kathryn Samman and guitarist François Jalbert, longtime friends and creative partners. Based in Montreal, the duo crafts cinematic music blending folk, indie, bluegrass, and progressive rock, where each song unfolds as a self-contained narrative.

Coming from a jazz background, François Jalbert trained at Université de Montréal and McGill University, received the Montreal International Jazz Festival’s Jazz Guitar Scholarship twice, and was recognized by La Presse as one of the most influential guitarists on the Québec music scene. Kathryn Samman holds a bachelor’s degree in jazz voice and a master’s degree in jazz/pop voice, and balances her career between teaching and performing, bringing technical mastery and sensitivity to the project.

Following a self-titled debut released in 2020, Little Misty unveiled Nowhere Land in spring 2023. Joined on stage by virtuoso collaborators, the band delivers an immersive live experience. Little Misty has showcased at Folk Alliance International, Folk Music Ontario, and RIDEAU, toured extensively in the U.S., and is currently working on a new album to be released in winter–spring 2027 under the Quartier Général label.
