Tanya Davis: Mass For Shut-Outs
Tanya Davis is a writer and performer based in rural Epekwitk / Prince Edward Island, where she served as Poet Laureate from 2023-2026 and was also named Artist of the Year in 2024. She works across artistic discipline, creating for the page, the stage, the stereo, and the screen. Her new show, Mass for Shut-Outs, explores enduring questions through a queer, critical, and comedic lens. It is a shout out to anyone grappling with the complexity of faith, the inconsistency of awe, and the politics of organized religion.
Alongside Mass, Tanya is also touring a one-person show called Seeker, a droll take on our meandering search for meaning. With characteristic wit and clarity, she sifts through church, state, and wellness culture to parse our best intentions from our worst practices.
